Hueman Supernova Thrusting Butt Plug Review
To t(h)rust or not to t(h)rust?
Have you seen thrusting butt plugs before? They exist in all kinds of designs, and I've always been curious about them. Often sold by random brands, it didn't give me much confidence.
Finally, Hueman released a new butt plug. Meet the Supernova! It's a thrusting butt plug from a reputed brand, you know what I'm going to say: of course I had to get it π.
Having thoroughly enjoyed their other sex toys β I have the Space Invader, Interstellar, and Space Force which are all great. I went in expecting the same level of quality for the Supernova.
Would this toy be a portable anal sex machine? Let's find out.
Packaging
The Supernova comes in a nice box with marketing images. Inside you'll find a plastic bag to be torn, which acts as the hygiene seal. Make sure yours is sealed!
Shape
With a tapered tip and great size for intermediate anal play, the Supernova looks very attractive. The only doubts I had are those accordion ridges that allow the plug to thrust. How would that feel during use?
Size
Unfortunately the size of the Hueman Supernova is not written anywhere π€·ββοΈ, so I've measured it myself below:
Total Length: 14cm
Max Diameter (bead 1): 1.25" / 3.18cm
Max Diameter (bead 2): 1.31" / 3.34cm
How it feels
Inserting the Supernova feels special, those accordion ridges are definitely obvious, but soft enough to feel good.
The total insertable length is however on the large side, and considering the toy will thrust deeper, you need to leave some room in for it to move. I wish it was shorter, otherwise you can't really use it as a plug anyway.
Turning on the Supernova, I was surprised with the nice thrusts which provided some gentle prostate stimulation as well. Again the long insertable length did bother me and it tended to go too deep to my liking.
So far, all good and well. However, trying to remove this plug? That's where the issues start. Do you turn it off before removing it, or do you let it thrust?
- If you turn it off: it retracts and traps your skin in between the accordion, making for a painful removal of the plug. π
- If you leave it on: it keeps on pinching different parts of your skin in the accordion, again making for a painful removal. π
Neither works, and I did end up with some blood after use of this toy. I had high hopes with its portable thrusting action, but the design is not human-friendly, and even dangerous.
This makes it a no-go. Do not get any thrusting toys with accordions that are mean to be inserted in your body, these will be painful and can cause injury.
The patterns are all also very fast and extreme, so you can't try it out on slow mode. It jumps right into fast action without warning, which is dangerous as you don't know how far it'll actually penetrate you and if you're ready to take it in that far yet.
Should you get it?
No. The accordion can trap skin and cause injury. While very disappointed β especially since it is pleasurable during use, you should not get this toy.
Alternatives
It's better we stick to thumping butt plugs until a safer thrusting butt plug design is invented.
You can always explore more sensations with the rimming plug, which is one of my TOP 5 anal toys:
Really craving for that thrusting action though? I get it, and the Hismith sex machine is there right to fulfill that need.
Summary
It's a great concept and feels great during use, but get any of that accordion trapping your skin and you'll be in for a painful adventure with possible injury. No pun intended, but was this sex toy even designed for humans?
Do not get the Supernova, or any similar butt plug.
