Lovense Glint Touch-Sensitive Butt Plug: Full Test

Lovense offered me a chance to review the Lovense Glint – one of their new butt plugs with a new innovative feature, even before it was released. Of course I couldn't pass up on that!

The Lovense Glint is a smaller butt plug with touch sensitivity! I haven't heard of a touch sensitive butt plug before, so it caught my attention. Touch sensitivity as in: you can touch the base of the plug, and it will react to your touch. I was very curious how that would work out in real life, although I could already imagine some very playful uses for this 😈.

Unboxing

The Glint comes in the typical Lovense box, great and inviting packaging.

It comes with a leaflet, and a USB charging cable. Unfortunately it does not come with a storage pouch.

Touch Sensitivity

Before inserting it, I had some external fun with the Glint. The vibrations are strong, and the vibration sound is familiar as the vibration has the typical feel of other Lovense toys. I was surprised by the noise level, it felt quieter than other Lovense anal plugs even at max vibration 😎.

How does it work?

When touching the part of the base right under your butt, it vibrates. The more surface you touch, the stronger the vibration. If you touch it long enough, it pulses. This can be changed in the settings: either pulse, sustain, or crescendo (gradual) vibrations can be chosen when pressing for longer times.

You can also calibrate the touch sensitivity in the app, which I highly recommend doing.

And in practice?

When inserted, the Glint's vibrations are tons of fun, although they won't reach the prostate, as this toy's shape is not meant for targeting it. The vibrations feel very strong.

The touch sensitivity worked even through my clothes, although your mileage may vary depending on how thick your clothes are, but that's a nice touch. Butt cheeks!!

If you have a bigger 'cake'? 😆 Your butt cheeks may be pushing onto the Glint sideways. This can trigger the touch sensor, especially when walking. However, when walking, I see the vibrations as an extra bonus, I don't mind at all ✨.

I did have some issues where the vibrations would be continuous, this took a bit of tweaking in the menu: re-calibrating, updating sensitivity. Once I've found the sweet spot it felt pretty stable. Just don't expect 100% accuracy, you will still have some misfires with it. On the positive side, those misfires felt great.

That's specifically when playing with it standing. If you're in a different position where your cheeks are more spread, the accuracy is much better.

Lube?

I noticed that lube on the Glint's touch sensor seems to confuse it somewhat. I got around that by wiping a few times and keeping it clean. With lube on it, it either stopped vibrating even when touching, or kept vibrating continuously. Thankfully it's an easy fix.

While I wouldn't say that for other toys, try to get the right amount of lube, not too few, not too much, so it doesn't interfere with the sensor.

How much fun is the touch sensor?

While I couldn't test it with my partner, feeling the immediate reaction upon touching and lifting my finger is super fun. While I know you can also do that with an app, it feels different when you're touching the plug itself. The reactivity of the Glint is spot on. Lifting my finger immediately stops the vibration.

As an added bonus, when touching the base, you're also slightly pushing the plug in for some extra stimulation 😌.

Some uses I thought about:

• During sex, the person penetrating can trigger the vibrations from banging into the plug, for example with the doggystyle or prone bone position 🤯
• While watching adult videos, you can mimic the action just by touch 🔥
• Your partner can surprise you randomly with touch - not knowing when you're wearing it 🥵
• You want to make your own vibration patterns without the hassle of an app
• During sex, you can spice things up by controlling when your partner gets the vibrations, and at which intensity without searching all over the bed for your phone to use the app ✨

There's many more ways you can use it. However, the touch sensitivity isn't the only reason to get this plug. It's a nice, new innovative bonus, but I was blown away by the quality of the plug.

What about the plug itself?

I usually prefer slightly larger plugs, so at a glance I wouldn't have chosen this specific size. Regardless, I remained neutral and open-minded during my testing - and that's a good thing because I ended up liking the Glint more than I would have expected 😲.

For the plug's shape: it is soft and smooth, while the plug is firm. If you remember my Hush 2 XS review, I highlighted that the tip of the plug is a bit sharp. That's no longer the case with the Glint. That's a huge win! Very comfortable to wear hours on end.

As for its length, it is shorter than the Hush 2 XS, and I actually seem to prefer it. This size is much more accessible for starting out, but not only that.. Although its shape is small, its strong vibrations more than compensated for that. While I didn't feel as full or stretched as with bigger plugs, I.. didn't miss it either? I felt fully satisfied during my testing sessions with this shape, and it didn't require any stretching prep to get it in. I didn't feel the need for a larger plug.

I know, right? It feels hard to believe myself that a small plug like this could be so satisfying. 🤷‍♂️ I suppose my pleasure focus went more toward the strong vibrations!

Vibrations

The vibrations travel far, are pretty discreet and feel awesome. I've also had lots of fun using community vibration patterns from the app. Some of them are very long (30+ minutes), so once you find a good one, press play and have fun without having to tweak anything 😎.

I've compared the vibrations of the Glint to the Lovense Hush 2 XS and S anal plugs. I discovered the Glint's vibrations are marginally less powerful than the Hush 2 XS, barely noticeable. The Hush 2 XS feels also a tiny bit less powerful than the Hush 2 S. However, that's when you have a direct comparison, otherwise it's really not noticeable, and it isn't a big difference either. It probably feels stronger due to packing similar vibrations in such a small plug.

Doubts on this vibration comparison?
I was doubting whether I was imagining it, however, I've seen other reviewers also confirm their experience, that the Hush 2 anal plugs do feel stronger the bigger the size you go. I can't say if that's due to the internals, or just how we perceive the vibrations due to its different shape 🤷‍♂️. Either way, the vibrations feel very strong on all these plugs, so the difference does not really matter in practice.

With the Glint's pinpointed shape, I also had fun using it as a handheld vibrator over my clothes. It feels very satisfying when pointed on my frenulum, and I didn't want to stop that, but I had to test it internally as well 😆. This also felt good with the Hush 2 XS. Less so with the Hush 2 S since its thicker body means less pinpointed vibrations.

Lovense Remote App

It comes with the typical amazing Lovense interactive app features, including stranger roulette (connect to a stranger and control each other's toys), AI chat with vibrations, and community patterns. I talk more about it in my Gush 2 Motion and Hush 2 reviews.

The Glint Size Measurement

It is both shorter and thinner than the Hush 2 XS. For comparison, Hush 2 XS has a max insertable width of 1" / 2.5cm, and max insertable length of 3.86" / 9.8cm.

Noise Level

Measuring right next to Glint with ambient room levels of 45dB, you can see its results below. Note that in real use, when inserted in the body, the noise is dampened.

This is even lower than the Hush 2 XS, so my intuition about the Glint being quieter was right.

Who is it for?

Conclusion

The Lovense Glint's touch sensitivity is a fun extra feature, but it would be nothing if the plug itself wasn't great. You need a great anal plug for this to work: a good shape, and even more amazing vibrations. The Glint delivers on all of that 🌟.

The touch sensitivity can take some tweaking to get it working exactly as you want. Either way, more vibrations from the misfires is a big win 😄. This opens doors for much more partner play, or experimentations with solo play.

Regardless of its small size, it packs a punch thanks to its well-built shape and strong vibrations. Surprisingly, I felt fully satisfied with this size.

I'm wondering if the Glint will stay as a separate line-up, apart from the Hush, or whether in the future, all Hush plugs could also have touch sensitivity 🤔. Time will tell!
